Knowing what it takes to keep a site like this up
and going, I really feel like I have not expressed my appreciation.
This site has been functional for over five years, and looks
great. But it functions even better than it looks. The resource
it provides us should not ever be taken for granted. Once again
this year Bob, GREAT JOB

Congratulations to the 2005 Mustang Padres for a tremendous
season. These players gave 100% each and every game, practice,
etc. You finished 2nd in the league, but 1st in the hearts of
all the parents, fans, etc. Your sportsmanship alone makes you
all #1!!
Also hats off to the coaches (Todd Lantz and Bob Roggenbach)
for their countless hours of hard work, determination and positive
pep talks to their team. You helped these players gain the confidence
and ability to keep their chins up no matter what the score.
Way to go Padres!!!!

I wanted the league to know that I find it extremely
gratifying that our players and coaches conduct themselves with
the utmost respect and sense of fair play when on the field.
Our coaches have placed teaching sportsmanship on the same level
as teaching our players the fundamentals of the game. It really
shows when we play other leagues. Our reputation for being competive
and being good sports says alot about all of the people who
have continued to work so hard to keep CVAC going. My hat is
off to all of you for caring and setting great examples for
our players and our oppenents.
Keep up the great work!!

I had the honor to play for Kenford Yee for 4yrs.
He just wasn't a coach to all of us but a friend. Not only did
he teach us about baseball, but he taught us about life. I remember
one year we went to a motivational speaker and i didn't wanna
go, but after the meeting i knew that it was for a good purpose
in our lives now and for the future. The team and I had so many
memories with kenford and if it wasn't for him we wouldn't had
the chance to experience that. I'm greatful that i was on the
team the last season that Kenford coached. He loved the game
as much as we all did. All of these lessons that Kenford taught
us will be with us forever, along with the great memories.
Coach,, I miss u everyday and i'm sure everyone else does too.
Take care. GO WILDCATS

Just wanted to compliment our Colt team and all the
teams within CVAC. It is wonderful to have such great sportmanship
within our club. It becomes very obvious when playing other
clubs who places sportmanship as a priority in coaching and
who has not. I feel very proud to attend games and see how our
teams handle difficult situations with other clubs. Our players
do CVAC proud!! Congratulations to all!

Just wanted to let you all know that on May 13th,
Jeff Ybarra pitched a 7 inning no hitter, he walked three while
striking out 17. WOW! Way to go Jeff!!! I am the assistant coach
for the team and missed the game because of another commitment.
I also wanted to say something about Kenford Yee... I coached
in the Colt division of P.O.N.Y. Baseball for Maple Valley for
several years and Kenford Yee impressed me as a fine coach and
a fine man, although I didn't know him outside the baselines,
I could tell by the discipline and respect he commanded from
his players that he was an excellent coach. Not only that but
to be an excellent coach requires character. I always saw character
in his players and in the way they played. I'm certain his legacy
will live on thru the many young lives he touched!

Last night the Purple Smurfs played a great game,
they played solid from the top to the bottom of the line-up.
The pitching was great, the batting as well as the Iron wall
defense. Purple Smurfs you made all the parents so proud of
you last night, you all deserve a great big "go girl"

Your hard work came to fruition last night and I am very proud

Kenford Yee was an amazing human being, both on the
field and off. I am honored to have called him my friend. He
made us laugh, he inspired, he listened and he taught. His legacy
will live on and on in his two wonderful children and all the
young men whose lives he touched through baseball. You would
have been proud of them today Kenford, not only are they baseball
players, but they turned out to be nice young men.

My initial reaction when I heard the news was denial.
Then the shock set in, and the sadness. Then I met with Kathy
and saw her incredible strength. And as the acceptance came,
I couldn't help thinking of what must have transpired -
For the last few years, God has been getting rather frustrated.
His team, the Angels, always take the pennant, but lately they
have been facing some tough competition through the series.
Those devils were improving. So God called on his staff to help
Him figure out a plan. A man's name was brought up and God asked
what everybody thought. Jesus said, "He has a heart of
gold, and pours it out on everyone". Moses added, "He's
a great leader and teaches all his children well". St.
Peter said, "He's awful young". God thought everything
over and made his decision. He called upon the man and offered
him a contract. But the man politely refused. He wanted more
time to get seasoned as a coach, and to teach the kids. He wanted
more time to share his love with family and friends. As the
years went by, things continued getting tougher for the Angels
and God again called on the man. And this time, God made an
offer he couldn't refuse. So on February 15, 2004, though it
broke his heart to leave the Wildcats, Kenford Yee made his
way to Heaven's dugout. To manage in THE Bigs. He grabbed hold
of the fence with both hands, smiled, and, staring out at the
field where the Angels practiced, started making plans to take
the pennant.
Kenford, you were an inspiration and a truly great man. I
shall miss you dearly.

I played for Kenford for 2 years and I will be the
first one to say he was the smartest man I have ever met on
or off the field. He was like a father to me ever since my first
day on the team. He touched so many people and I am sure he
will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to his loving family
and his current/former players. He will be dearly missed. Even
though he would be the first to say "shut up and play ball
already!" the game has lost a true competitor and a great
man.

I have had the privilege to be around Kenford Yee
for over half of my life. He wasn't just a coach to me and all
of the guys, he was our friend and mentor. As he taught us to
play this simple game of baseball, he instilled life lessons
that we will all carry with us for the rest of our lives. "Life
will always have obstacles. It is not how we avoid them; but
how we overcome them, that we learn how to live" This is
what Kenford wrote to me in a card in August of 2000. As we
move on with our lives we will carry these values with us, and
hopefully pass them off to our kids, and others around us. I'm
sure that was Kenford's ultimate goal with all of us.

For those
of you who were at the Mustang Padres vs. Angels last night
you were able to enjoy a great one. For those of you who weren't
there, you should of been. A classic affair with the lead
changing hands several times. The game was highlighted by
outstanding pitching and timely hitting by both teams. Final
score, Angels 7 Padres 5. These two teams may have the chance
to play again during post season play. If you like a good
Mustang game be sure to check it out. Congratulations to the
entire Angels team!
