Cascade Vista Baseball is proud to announce a new level of play to the CVAC family!
Open to all of Renton/Kent and surrounding communities, the Cascade Vista Prime Baseball Team will be introduced to the Cascade Vista Baseball program starting with the 2020 Spring Season. As we integrate this new higher level of play into Cascade Vista Baseball we will be launching it at the 10U level as a pilot program with a long-term vision of including other age groups as it continues to unfold. Starting with the 10U age group, this program is designed to offer players an affordable opportunity to participate in a more competitive level of play, with a potentially longer season and the ability to play against local talent in tournaments across Western Washington.
With this new level of play there will be more structure involved in the formation of the team and commitment from players. Below are the details for the new team:
All 10U players interested in playing on the Cascade Vista Prime Team must register and attend tryouts. Registration for tryouts will open in early December with tryout dates scheduled for Saturday February 22 & 29th, 10am-Noon, CVAC Fields.
Cascade Vista Baseball will form one (Prime) team in the 10U division. The team will consist of up to 13 players selected by coaches. Due to the nature of implementing this program, the new team will only be assembled if coaches feel that a competitive team can be formed based upon caliber of tryout talent.
Training will begin in early March. The team will receive a higher level of instruction developing core skills including pitching, defense, base running and hitting. Full team practices will start the week of March 9th, two to three days per week and will be determined by the coaching staff after tryouts and team assembly. Indoor practices (if needed due to weather) will be held at GoTime athletics in the Georgetown area of Seattle.
The 10U Prime team will play games against local select and league teams as well tournaments. Tournament play can begin as early as March and run through July, final tournament dates are to be decided. The goal for this 10U team is to play between three to six tournaments. Tournament offerings will be located within Western Washington and the final number will be determined as tournament schedules become posted. More details on tournament locations, specific dates, and costs associated will be communicated as soon as possible after the forming of the team.
Full program fees are yet to be determined but will be finalized prior to the opening of the season. There is no additional cost to register for tryouts on top of current league fees. Players who are selected for the 10U Prime Team will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of $100 upon accepting their roster spot. Payment for remaining balance can be completed at the same time or through a scheduled payment plan. (A limited number of Scholarships are available.)
