Board establishes priorities for 2018 season

Thank you to all the parents and coaches for providing the Board of Directors with feedback last spring. Many of you had great ideas and we will be implementing many for the spring baseball season.

The board established these five priorities to be work on in the off season.

1 – Establish a mentorship program for new coaches and adopt a league coach book with complete rosters (emergency contact information and medical information), pre-established practice plans with links to videos and a copy of league and Pony ground rules.

2 – Revise ground rules and develop benchmarks (to be achieved by 2nd year in league) to further develop our players earlier that will benefit our All-Star and Wildcat teams to be successful.

3 – Continue providing ongoing training for CVAC umpires, establishing a mentor program for consistent baseball knowledge and expand program for adults who want to learn.

4 – Develop a 5-year strategic plan to address growth of the league, field stability, securing additional finances without raising registration costs dramatically, continue to establish partnerships and possibly expand CVAC Field to include possible indoor batting and pitching facility.

5 – Grow our volunteer base on the board, concessions and field maintenance.

CVAC Baseball is an all volunteer base organization from the President to the many who care and prepare our fields at each game to the coaches who put in many hours each week. and the people in the concession stands. Without volunteers we would not be able to play baseball. We have the lowest cost registration and fundraiser fees in the region. We do this because many who play CVAC are on reduced or free lunch at school.

This is the start of several changes in the level which includes this new website, saving the league nearly $8,000 in fees yearly.
