Mustang

MUSTANG 10U begins PONY Baseball's belief that rather than change the rules of Baseball to make it possible for young people to play the game, it is more logical to change the size of the diamonds, to adjust them to the physical potential of the players.

Use of diamonds matched to their capabilities permits younger players to play in the same proportionate position as the Major Leaguers and to make the same plays as a Major Leaguer.

Skills include - building upon the batting skills, running, stealing, proper throwing mechanics, fielding in the infield and outfield, communication, advance in catching and pitching skills (pitches and grips, pickoffs, stretch and wind-up fundamentals.

Players are selected in a draft format. Players are eligible to tryout for the league's All-Star program playing tournaments in June to July to include the Northwest Pony Regional.
